Why #GivingTuesdayNow?
#GivingTuesday, the global day of giving is always the first Tuesday in December. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, #GivingTuesdayNow was created as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
When our first video went viral with over 100 million views worldwide, countless parents requested for us to offer virtual training for boys who did not live in Detroit. Due to the demand, we started purchasing equipment two years ago and planned on making the virtual training available to the public in June of 2021 — but the Coronavirus pandemic coerced us to speed up the process. We launched our first virtual class for our current recruits on March 26, 2020 via Zoom and have continued developing the curriculum.
Now with many infectious disease experts saying there's a strong possibility that K-12 schools will not resume in-person classes until 2021, we have decided to make the development of our virtual training a priority. Your tax-deductible donation will not only help us continue teaching our current students during these challenging times, but also offer our virtual training to the public this year.
Thank you in advance for any amount you can give!
