Benefits of Flowers

When I allowed misconstrued masculinity to stifle my artistry but also define my huMANity—I would only buy flowers for my wife, daughter or mother. Now that I’m a comprehensive man of the Most High, I buy them for myself to place in our kitchen.

A recent study revealed that simply being in the presence of flowers was found to elevate mood significantly, measurably increase feelings of life satisfaction, decrease depression and anxiety while promoting positive social behavior. Even the Samurai warriors of medieval and early modern Japan were very fond of Sakura flowers/Cherry Blossoms—and NO ONE dared to insult their manhood (Swipe). The zen art of Ikebana (flower arranging) was traditionally practiced by the samurai as it offered a ritualistic, but starkly personal form of self expression, whose beauty was created with colors taken from the pallete of life!
