We’ve always heard “honor thy father”… but how can you honor someone who has hurt you so much?⠀

In my book Cry Like A Man, I share how my father was absent for the majority of my life, so it was hard for me to forgive and show up for him when he needed me in his older years — but I’m glad I did. ⠀

As a result, he was finally able to break free from years of trauma and say the words I longed to hear for 37 years, 👉🏾“I love you son.” ⠀
