Have their attention before you speak. If you are too busy to stop what you are doing to speak to them, and end up just yelling from the next room – it is likely that your teenager will be too busy to stop what they are doing to listen to you. 👀
Instead, if you want them to hear you, look them in the eye. Tell them, “𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶.” Get in the habit of giving your child your undivided attention and have them do the same in return!
