In partnership with Healthy Kidz, Inc., the camp will take place at the newly renovated, state of the art, Tindal Recreation Center, which is located in Northwest Detroit.

The S.W.A.G. Summer Break Camp experience provides middle school students, between the ages of 11-13, with evidence-based prevention curriculum while encouraging, educating, and empowering youth through activities such as photography, career readiness, entrepreneurship, STEM, and athletics.

S.W.A.G. is an acronym for Students With Awareness and Goals, a program developed by The Yunion, Inc. For Summer Break this year, The Yunion is offering a S.W.A.G. Summer Break Camp, a one-week program that serves as an extension of our S.W.A.G. Prevention and Life Skills after-school curriculum.
The Yunion is a holistic youth development organization serving approximately 600 participants annually, ages 11-17, in Metro Detroit. For more than a decade, The Yunion has reached over 10,000 metro-Detroit youth and parents with intensive and innovative programming; including mentorship, prevention, life skills, job readiness, and leadership development. The Yunion’s mission is to counter negative cultural influences that impact the life of youth while providing positive alternatives to those we reach.
Students are placed with a professionally trained instructor that nurtures their talents and abilities in a specific area of interest.
Participants gain:
** 9 hours of intensive prevention and life skills training
** Increased knowledge of risk factors associated with teen pregnancy, HIV, other sexually transmitted diseases, and substance abuse
** Participation in various educational and recreational activities
** Development of self-motivation, self-confidence, and positive decision-making skills
