The Danger Of Too Much Screen Time For Kids
🚫𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘰𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘚𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘒𝘪𝘥𝘴 🚫
Parents, though we may not want to, it is our job to regulate the amount of time our kids spend online each day. We need to make sure our children have time for other valuable activities: Eating regular & healthy meals, reading, homework, writing, physical activities, extracurricular activities, etc.
If not, these are just 𝘚𝘖𝘔𝘌 of the negative effects too much screen time can have on your children:
👉 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘦 – There’s no physical movement involved in screen time, and often it is combined with munching on high calorie snack food.
👉 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘥 – Your children may develop problems with falling asleep as they continue obsessing about the internet, video games, and TV programs during the night.
👉 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 – Increased possibility of developing depression, anxiety, and attention problems, including ADD and ADHD.
Luckily, it’s finally starting to warm up, and summer will be here before we know it! We encourage you to make a list with your kids of all the things they can do outdoors, or away from electronics. Drop your favorite ideas in the comments! ⬇️
