5 Influences That Effect Teen At-Risk Behaviors
Parents, π Did you know that despite all of the internal and external influences that influence risky behaviors in our teenagers, we as parents are still ranked number one. π₯³
Though we are number 1οΈβ£, we need to be aware of the other influences as well, so we can properly prepare and support our young people.
Those other influences include:
π Hormones
π Media Messages
π Peer Pressure
π Relationship Pressure
Though these influences can affect our teens negatively, they can also affect them positively. Within the right peer group or relationship, positive peer pressure can occur. Influencing things like grades, exposure opportunities, and other positive social engagement.
Though popular culture in the media presents unhealthy risk taking as the βnorm,β there are other media outlets and platforms (i.e. podcast, influencers, etc.) that are counter culture.
