Have their attention before you speak. If you are too busy to stop what you are doing to speak to them, and end up just yelling from the next room – it is likely that your teenager will be too busy to stop what they are doing to listen to you. πβ£

Instead, if you want them to hear you, look them in the eye. Tell them, “π π―π¦π¦π₯ π΅π° π΅π’ππ¬ π΅π° πΊπ°πΆ.” Get in the habit of giving your child your undivided attention and have them do the same in return! β£
