Monitoring

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐲? 🤔⁣

Though we don’t agree with this teen’s approach to getting more privacy, studies show that teens need more privacy and personal space as they get older – and it’s an actual good thing! ⁣

Giving your child the privacy to think and explore is an important part of their growing independence. That’s because part of growing up is learning to handle new ideas, emotions, and interests with independence and responsibility. 💭 ⁣

Because the teenage brain is still developing, teens sometimes make quick decisions and don’t always think through the consequences of their behavior. 👀 Your child needs you to stay in touch with them, so you can guide and support them. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨.⁣

You should also trust your child to make good decisions, behave appropriately, and decide what information they need or want to share with you and others.⁣

But, 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴. Your child needs to trust that you respect their right to have privacy and a say in decisions about their life! 👏⁣

Have a break!

The worst thing a man can do—is base his existence on what he does. On average, women live longer than men. In fact, by age 85… 67% of those living are women. I pray one day we, men, will find our worth in more than…
