Reminisce the Wonderful Past

Wow, look at God.

9 years ago we had an opportunity to move from our small office in the University District on Puritan in Detroit MI. In that office we had 3 desk, one for our CEO, one for our ED and one for our Program Coordinator. That office also served as storage room Lol.

We moved to the International Institute in Midtown Detroit right next to the Detroit Institute of Art. We were still only renting one office but we had more access to the building. We had access to the their conference room, multi purpose room, class rooms and the Hall of Nations where our CEO Jason Wilson was able to expand and house the CATTA (Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy).

While in that building our organization grew substantially. We went from leasing one office to three offices and a storage room. We were in the space for 8 years and it got to a point where that space couldn’t meet our needs any more.

You fast forward 9 years later (present day) we now have our own building with 3 offices, storage, room for program space, health and wellness room, room for computer lab, room for a music studio and a training area for the CATTA.
As we’ve been faithful, consistent and persistent in answering the call of servicing Youth and Families in the Metro Detroit area Yah (God) has been faithful in blessing us and expanding our territory. We don’t take that lightly or for granted.

We are grateful for where we have been, where are are currently and where we are going. This #throwbackthursday we want to acknowledge all the staff that has helped us get this far and all the families and youth that has allowed us to service them but most we want to thank God.

RECEIVING AFFIRMATION

August 31, 2019

My brothers: When we cannot receive love and affirmation from each other—we will never be able to attain the healing we so desperately desire. Living in a state of heartache, wearies the soul and takes the life out of living. I know this pain so well, which is why I #CryLikeAMan daily until we can collectively heal and be whole.

The Path To Healing

August 31, 2019

The path to healing isn’t easy—comprehensive manhood requires courageous transparency. As long as we are more concerned about our image, the pain will always stay within—suppressing what we really feel and who we really are.

ALLOW YOURSELF TO HAVE WEAK MOMENTS INSTEAD OF A WEAK MINDSET

August 18, 2019

Brother Devon, I too allowed misconstrued masculinity hinder my expression of love for my daughter. I will never forget when she slammed her finger in my car door at 8 years old. She showed no emotion to the pain because at that time in my life, I didn’t know how to #CryLikeAMan—I just a male defined only by masculine attributes.

Have a break!
