Seek to get healed from what hurts in you, before you unintentionally hurt your children
As a wounded young father in my early 30’s, I probably would have demeaningly called my son “lazy” for not holding his suit while we waited in line to purchase it. But now that I’m healed from the abusive and negative words of my father—I said, “Wow son, that’s a creative way to save energy!” As you can see from his smile in this picture, my words affirmed him.
Parents, please seek to get healed from what hurts in you, before you unintentionally hurt your children. Trust me, you’ll look back on those years with tears and a broken heart—wishing you could get those years back so that you could have loved them the way they deserved. #TBT
