Teaching Kids To Count Is Fine, But Teaching Them What Counts Is Best
“𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵.”
Parents, our children get more from us than just our genetics! They get their values and priorities, which are taught from us.
We have to show them what to prioritize with our actions and words. And although this seems like it would come naturally, it is much easier said than done.
While things like academics, chores, and other responsibilities have their place at the top of the list, we also want to ensure that they prioritize those things that are external and intangible; hobbies, sports, passions. Things that excite them!
