The Golden Rule of Parenting
✨ The Golden Rule of Parenting is: Do unto your children as you wish your parents had done unto you. ✨
🔹 Easier said than done, right? Who else remembers being a kid or even a young adult pre-children and thinking, “𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘺…” or “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐’𝘮 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰 𝘟𝘠 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘡.”
🔹 I am sure every parent out there can agree that being a parent is much more challenging than we had thought it would be, but it is also so much more rewarding too.
🔹 Something to always keep you grounded as a parent is to take the time and reflect on your own childhood. Ask yourself, “𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯? 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯, 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥?”
🔹 We don’t have all the answers as parents, no matter how many books we read or stories we listen to, every child is different, and therefore requires different parenting. So remember to give yourself grace! No parents is perfect, we are all just learning as we go, and supporting each other along the way!
Give us a comment below if you can relate to this! We like to keep things real here, the good, the bad, and the ugly! So don’t be afraid to share your stories!👇
