Today’s Trip

Parents if we are being honest with ourselves we can not control our children. Our goal shouldn’t be to control them, but our goal should be to influence them.
When we try to control them we take away their autonomy and when they are away from us it’s rare that they do what we want them to do. They do what they want to do regardless if it’s good for them or not.

But when we influence them by teaching, training, and role modeling then they internalize and maintain their autonomy and do what they feel is right based on what we’ve taught them whether you are around or not.
