Training for Godliness – 1 Timothy 4:8
The Cave of Adullam’s training was very good today. We got some good physical training in, which is of some value, but the focus was training for godliness, which is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come (1 Tim 4:8)! Both age groups completed the pretest for part one of our study on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I tell them often, “You cannot defend what hasn’t been disciplined and you can’t stand bold if you do not know the Rock to stand on! It’s imperative that we place great emphasis on the spiritual component of the Cave of Adullam’s training, if not we will have another generation of men that can quote scripture but not apply it to their lives.
