5 Tips To Help You Build A Stronger Relationship With Your Teen!
It’s time for a #ParentingTipTuesday! 💡
One of the most important things you can do as a parent, is build and maintain a positive relationship with your child. Teens feel strong relationship bonds when they see their parents not only love them – but also like them!

1️⃣. 𝘈 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 “𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦” – Teens feel loved and valued when we spend time with them. It’s hard to have a decent relationship with someone you rarely see!
2️⃣. 𝘈 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 – In addition to daily conversations, set aside a longer time on weekends to stay in touch and connect on a deeper level. It could be a game night or dinner together!
3️⃣. 𝘋𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘶𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 – Ask them what they enjoy doing, and go do those things together!
4️⃣. 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – Make sure your teen feels heard, no matter what the topic is, or how you feel about it initially. Once you’ve heard them, you can share your thoughts and feelings as well.
5️⃣. 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 – Make sure we are not sacrificing our children’s future for our present concerns. Special events could include: sporting events, school assemblies, parent-teen activities, performances, etc.
We know parenting a teen can be rough at times, but as your teens grows and learns – so can you! Which tip can you improve upon? 1️⃣-5️⃣?
