5 Tips To Help Your Teens Cope With Stress!

𝟓 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝗪𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒!⁣

Now that school is back in session, all the academic responsibilities, sports, hobbies, and other commitments come along with it. Which can make for a very stressed out teenager. 😅
So! Here are some ways to help them cope:⁣

1️⃣ 𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏! This is essential to their growth and development. Their changing bodies and evolving minds need at least 8-10 hours. 💤 ⁣

2️⃣ 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬! In today’s society, it is so easy to criticize or pick apart someone’s weaknesses. We need to show our children what makes them special and encourage them in the areas that they can excel at. This can look vastly different from teen to teen. 💪⁣

3️⃣ 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲! We could all use some more happiness in life! Help your child find a sport, hobby, activity, etc. that they truly love. This gives teens a fun outlet for some “Me Time!” as well as boosts their confidence! 🎤🎮 📚 ⁣

4️⃣ 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲! Exercise is one of the BEST ways to relieve stress. Whether it’s a short walk around the block, or a long bike ride, the exercise releases chemicals in the brain that can brighten their mood. 🏈⁣
5️⃣ 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. This can seem challenging at times, but everything feels better once talked through. Learning how to communicate and manage stress is such a great life skill to achieve at a young age. Be a trusted parent or encourage them to find someone who they feel comfortable confiding in that will have their best interest at heart. It is vital that teens have someone more than just their peers to seek advice from!

RECEIVING AFFIRMATION

August 31, 2019

My brothers: When we cannot receive love and affirmation from each other—we will never be able to attain the healing we so desperately desire. ALLOW YOURSELF TO HAVE WEAK MOMENTS INSTEAD OF A WEAK MINDSET

August 18, 2019

Brother Devon, I too allowed misconstrued masculinity hinder my expression of love for my daughter. I will never forget when she slammed her finger in my car door at 8 years old. She showed no emotion to the pain because at that time in my life, I didn’t know how to #CryLikeAMan—I just a male defined only by masculine attributes.
