More Than Code
This past weekend, we wrapped up our first 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 program in the House of Technology! Huge thanks to @ourjourni for partnering with us and @scommpartners for sponsoring our students and hanging out with us for the last several weeks. 🙌
𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞, led by Journi, is a program that helps to enhance high school students’ confidence in shaping their own future. Journi uses an approach of coding education to teach his students; which includes entrepreneurial training as well!

We are so excited to see our students put these skills to use and help build their futures! As you can see, they had a great time! 🤣

Exhaust Fans Installed
I framed and mounted the exhaust fans today. With two of these in our 2,900 sft training area, we now have enough ventilation to restart classes safely indoors when weather does not permit us to do so outdoors.
Making custom mounts for the exhaust fans

Self Esteem
When young people have high self-esteem, they tend to have better peer-to-peer relationships, they bounce back from disappointment more quickly, and are more likely to succeed at the tasks they want to accomplish. #EncourageOurYouth #WeLoveDetroitYouth
