Parents! Self-esteem is more than just how you feel about yourself. It’s also about how capable you are to meet life’s challenges and feel worthy of your own happiness!
You can build self-esteem in your child by developing three “A’s”. 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 👏
➡️ 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – Being affirmed means to be valued for who you are, by a significant person in your life. Children/teens with high self-esteem feel affirmed by their parents.
➡️ 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – Children/teens with high self-esteem report that their parents frequently show affection to them. Hugs, high fives, even a cuddle from time to time!
➡️ 𝘈𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 – Children/teens with high self-esteem can identify specific accomplishments they have achieved. These teens also feel parental recognition for these achievements, and know their parents are proud of them!
Building your child’s self-esteem and confidence is one of the best things you can do for them! Which “A” do you enforce in your household? Or is it all 3?! 🙌
