5 Tips To Help Your Teen Deal With Anxiety

Parents! As our children are approaching that time of the year where they are inundated with test taking your child may be experiencing some form of have anxiety. Whether it’s social anxiety or nerves about being back in school during the pandemic, we understand the struggle! ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
𝗪𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝟓 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲: ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
1️⃣ 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘹. What the body really needs is daily practice of a relaxation technique. This could be yoga, meditation, or even as simple as taking some deep breaths. 🧘⁣⁣⁣

2️⃣ 𝘚𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱, 𝘕𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦. Making sure your teen is getting the proper amount of sleep (6-8 hours) is key. 🔑 Helping them to choose fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is great for long term energy. Exercise is a necessity so their brain and body can operate at its best! ⁣⁣

3️⃣ 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴. Spending time with friends or family can be crucial to a teen’s mental health. Organized activities are great, but even just hanging out and spending quality time can help make them feel supported and secure! 💙 ⁣⁣

4️⃣ 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. Taking a hike in the woods or even a quick walk in the park can help your teen feel peaceful and grounded. Have them choose somewhere they feel safe so they can relax and enjoy their surroundings. 🌳⁣⁣⁣

5️⃣ 𝘍𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥. One of the best ways to keep their minds from worrying is to focus on the good stuff! Remind them to be thankful for the blessings they have in life, small or big, and to not take any of it for granted. 💫 ⁣⁣
